Translation Services are Writing Services

The job of translation is to deconstruct a sentence in one language to reconstruct it in another. This is where your copywriting skills will make a difference. Copywriting is the ability to write text that immediately grabs the reader's attention and engages them with the content. Despite being technically 2 different linguistic tasks both achieve excellence  through linguist that are extraordinary writers

Translation is an activity that comprises the interpretation of the meaning of a text in one language (the source text) and the production of a new text in another language with equivalent meaning. The resulting text in the target language is also called translation. As such it is supposed to meet linguistic equivalence that reads natural and in accordance to the target audiences cultural context.

About Me

Lost in Translation?

Those who are unaware of the translation process almost always treat the translator as a mere connoisseur of two or more languages. Translating goes beyond this and in most cases needs research and complex topic understanding. In principle, translation involves two languages, but it doesn't stop there. The areas or types of texts translated are many, and therefore a good translator of novels is not necessarily a good translator of scientific texts, and vice versa.

Contrary to what most people think, translators are not just book translators. Book or editorial translation, erroneously called "literary translation", is a minority segment of the translation market worldwide. Other more voluminous segments are legal translators (among them sworn translators), translators of industrial equipment manuals, translators of journalistic articles, translators of legal texts, scientific text translator, and translators of medical texts, among others.

TYPES OF TRANSLATION

When looking for a translator service, people think that any text translation is the same, but there are types of translations that can only be done by accredited translators, and others require more than just the translator service, but also research. Of course, there is also endless topic categories and specializations that vary from technical translations over to medical translation or legal translations.

No doubt a translator is a writer and must have extraordinary writing skills, but an extraordinary life science translator may be able to shine only in pharmaceutical text styles while most legal translators only shine within the legal communication. The reason is that each profession has it own communicative codes, we say terminology. It can take years to become proficient in one area. Learn about some types of translation:

Literal translation

This is the translation that comes closest to what is written, a literal translation. It seeks to be as faithful as possible to the original text, and is used for translation between languages with few differences, in documents and some legal texts. The translator has less work to do in these cases, just use the dictionary.

Interpretative translation

As the name implies, this is a free interpretation translation, i.e., the translator adapts the text in the best way for the language being translated. Interpretative translation is widely used in journalistic, technical, academic and commercial texts. The translator has more work to do with this type of text and needs more skills.

Investigative translation

In this type of translation, the professional may look for information outside the text to complement it, the interpretation is free. It is generally used for texts that are not well written, journalistic and technical texts.
